Manuscript and lithography collections

There are already over 57,000 manuscript copies, 22,000 Qur’an manuscripts, nearly 2000 transcripts, and 3000 photo copies in the AQR Central Library. Some of the manuscripts and Qur’ans are highly exquisite and unique.

Also, this library is known as the biggest treasury of lithography books in the country, holding 52,000 lithography books.  It is worth mentioning that AQR Central Library possesses exquisite and valuable manuscripts. This library has started to make microfilm out of manuscripts since 1972 ,and It has begun digitizing resources intently since 2008 by equipping the film-tech section with the several advanced machines, including digital cameras, archive writer, and created the complete cycle of backup resources, including microfilm, digital file, optical tape; it has provided services and the aforementioned resources to internal and external researchers through the construction of the Digital Library on a large and international scale.

Services are offered in person and web-based (non-in-person) in the manuscript centre. Cataloguers, biologists, masters, researchers, writers, and students can use the specialized library of manuscripts in person and study digital files of manuscripts, lithography books, and microfilms.

Patrons can search for bibliographic information on manuscript resources and lithography books through the AQR Library Software. Researchers for getting consultation and responses to their questions about manuscripts (codicology and bibliography) can visit the expert and manuscript assessor and get the digital manuscript file by guidance and introduction of the librarian of the manuscripts specialized library.

The AQR Digital Library offers services both in person and web-based (non-in-person). Thus, a user should register initially on the mentioned site and search for the intended subject through the manuscripts database. After observing some pages of the intended copy, if the user would like, he records his request. The manuscript will then be sent to his profile on the Digital Library within ten days.
