The exquisite mobile-type books, applied to books published before 1942, are housed in the printed repository of the AQR Central Library. Researchers, seminar and university lecturers under specific conditions can use these resources for review purposes. Researchers must give their identification card or letter of recommendation, which is relevant to their subject, to the Director of the Public Library with the completed application form. It is worth noting that the exquisite movable type books are not borrowed and the production of a copy is forbidden. Researchers in need can receive the scan of some limited pages of resources by filling out the resource scan form and getting the agreement of the Director of the public library and manuscripts office.
It should be noted that the exquisite printed Persian and Arabic books are recognizable in the library software by two descriptors of “the Exquisite” and “Exquisite Movable Type” in the worksheet of resources. In addition, the unique Exquisite Objects of copies and manuscript pamphlets are kept in Manuscript of the AQR Central Library, endowment dates of which reveal the antiquity of this library. Copies contain artistic dimensions (such as fine calligraphy, fine paper, illumination and Tarsee' and artistic bindings)
Copies by writer’s pen, his students, scholars, and other introductions.
Unique copies
Copies with margins, corrections, writer’s method, and confrontation, his students, and other great scholars
Copies narrated from writer’s handwriting
Copies which have been inscribed in terms of the date of inscription, previous Naskh, or at least during the writer’s life
Copies with endorsement and unique note at the top or bottom of the text papers
It is available to access the manuscript treasuries in person and non-in-person. It is possible to study the digital file in person through the specialized library of manuscripts.
Respectful researchers can observe digital images of the exquisite copies by visiting manuscripts Researchers Hall or through the Digital Library. Dear applicants can receive the digital images after registration of digital files of manuscripts treasuries through the AQR Digital Library site.
It is important to mention that there is no specific database for the exquisite objects in the software of the library. However, there are bibliographic information and codicology of the exquisite manuscripts of the AQR Library in the library software; it is retrieved through the creator’s name, title, subject, writing date, etc. Moreover, the exquisiteness degree and the intended copy is exquisite or ordinary are mentioned in part related to the copy information. In addition, the exquisite Latin books are kept in the foreign books hall of the AQR Central Library and it is possible to use them in the hall area for researchers.
