Index Making of 300000 historical-document sheets, belonging to the Saffavid, the Afshar and the Qajar dynasties in the the Centre of the Documents of Astan Quds Razavi

According to the report of the Public Relations and the International Affairs of the Organization of the Libraries , Museums and the Centre of the Documents of Astan Quds Razavi, the responsible expert of index making part of the documents of this organization announced these remarks. In addition, he adds “among the indexed documents, 101.000 document sheets have been indexed, i.e. 69.000 document sheets have been related to Saffavid dynasty and 32.000 document sheets have been related to Afshar dynasty

Zahra Fatemi Moghadam added “now, this centre is terminating the index making of 200.000 historical-document sheets, related to the official organization of Astan Quds Razavi in Qajar period. She said that these documents are related to the official organization of Astan Quds in three periods and they have social, religious, economical and cultural themes in which the management method of the Holy Shrines can be seen. In addition, she added “the Centre of the Documents of Astan Quds Razavi has used the expert ones for index making of its own sources such as the written documents and picture. The aim is making these documents more accessible. Fatemi Moghadam remarked “the mentioned indexed documents are the oldest documents about the management of the documents and press affairs. In fact, they have a particular handwriting.

She said “these documents were illegible for most researchers because of its common handwriting type, its time and its using of written and numerical ways. So, the priority of Astan Quds was making them legible as well as making indexes for them. She said “in addition to the mentioned historical and written documents , more than 16.000 have been indexed by using of different issues such as the Holy Places of Razavi Shrine , making and substitution of the Shrine of Imam Reza(peace be upon Him),‌tiling of the courtyards of Holy Shrine ,Gohar Shad mosque , the porticoes of Razavi Shrine , the clerics and clergymen , the characters and the statesmen , different streets and places of Mashhad city , the Library of Astan Quds , building construction around Holy Shrine in the project of the development of the Shrine boundary, etc.

It must be mentioned that the Centre of the Documents of Astan Quds Razavi has more than 13.500 millions written document sheets from Safavid period. In addition, it is one of the largest , richest and precious document centre in the country that has been collected via endowment , dedication and buying
