Preparing for the 13th Intl. Festival of Razavi Book of the Year by holding the specialized meeting on “The Civilization-building Capacities of the Islamic Revolution”
In preparation for the 13th Intl. Festival of Razavi Book of the Year, the Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents Center of Astan Quds Razavi held the specialized meeting on “The Civilization-building Capacities of the Islamic Revolution” in March 2021.
According to Ganjin-e Razavi, in today’s specialized meeting on “The Civilization-building Capacities of the Islamic Revolution”, in addition to introducing the book "Modern Islamic Civilization (with the Focus on the views and thoughts of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution)” by Hujjat al-Islam Rohullah Saeedi Fazel, various aspects of civilization-building capacities were examined with the presence of the author of this work and a group of experts. It should be noted that this book was selected and awarded in the 12th Intl. Festival of Razavi Book of the Year.
Dr. Jafar Morvarid, Director General of Islamic Culture and Guidance of Khorasan Razavi; Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hassan Mahdavi-Mehr, the Chairman of the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi; Hujjat al-Islam Hussein Kondori, the Research Deputy of Khorasan Seminary; Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Al-Weeri, the faculty member at Baqer al-Uloom University; and Dr. Reza Gholami, Head of the Center for Islamic Humanities Research (SADRA), were the speakers of the meeting.
Introducing his work in this meeting, Saeedi Fazel stated: “the statements of the Supreme Leader during 2016-2020 about the new Islamic civilization constitute 84 percent of this work and from the remaining 16 percent, 4 percent is what we have derived from other statements of the Supreme Leader and 12 percent also covers the closest definitions to the views of the Supreme Leader while using his speeches and statements as a proof for such definitions.”
"In this work, we only explained 27 percent of the statements since 73 percent were clear enough and the Supreme Leader elaborated on them in his speeches," he said, adding that we merely sought to mention his views not explaining them.
Stating that currently there is no comprehensive and well-compiled book on the statements of the Supreme Leader regarding the new Islamic civilization, the selected author of the 12th Intl. Festival of Razavi Book of the Year noted: we collected all the statements he made in this regard since the time before the Islamic Revolution.
He continued: "One of the weak points of the collections which explain the statements of the Supreme Leader is that, in most cases, they don’t take into account the context, whereas we have tried to consider the context in this book."
The author of the "Modern Islamic Civilization" mentioned the order and classification, the authenticity of the quotations, the use of many resources and various diagrams as other privileges of his work. He also pointed out some of the weak points of this book: “Not elaborating some of the views of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, failing to observe some theological priorities, the lack of a proper platform for introducing the book, as well as publishing the book in 4 volumes instead of 2.
In this meeting, while emphasizing the need for the elites to play a role in reviving Islamic civilization, Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Al-Weeri stated: “The role of the elites is to manage the opinions and thoughts of the masses.” Moreover, he believed that the expansion of civilization studies in recent years has been significant and tangible and said: "Each of these works is like a bud that promises spring, but in general, these studies are far from the actions that take place in the Arab or the Islamic world."
A faculty member of Baqer al-Uloom University continued: "We need to know who has introduced the Islamic civilization and which view is in line with the thoughts of the Supreme Leader." In addition, while emphasizing that the Supreme Leader's views may be considered among the best and most prominent views in the world, he talked about the necessity of having a dialogue with the thinkers of various countries.
In this meeting, Jafar Morvarid also said that Islamic civilization has always been a subject of discussion in the last one hundred years. “The views of the Supreme leader are inspired by the 40years experience of the Islamic Revolution. In other words, the realism of the thoughts of Ayatollah Khamenei is based on the experiences of the Islamic Revolution” he added.
Furthermore, Hossein Kondori called the founders of Islamic civilization the infallible Imams and stated: The infallible Imams took a step towards civilization by training students in various fields of knowledge. He mentioned the issue of developing science and knowledge as one of the most important factors in the path of civilization-building.  Also, he added: “In the Second Phase of the Revolution Statement, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution pointed to the science and research describing knowledge as an ability.”
The Research Deputy of Khorasan Seminary called the two issues of intellectuality and unity as other effective factors in the new Islamic civilization and added: "Unity is a factor which leads to coexistence and stability."
It is worth mentioning that this meeting was held at the Sheikh Tabarsi Hall of Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi with the participation of the Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents Center of Astan Quds Razavi; Research Deputy of Khorasan Seminary; The General Directorate of Islamic Culture and Guidance of Khorasan Razavi and the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization of Khorasan Razavi.
