The beginning of the cooperation of Razavi and Abbasi libraries
According to Razavi Treasury, Dr. Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, at this meeting held in Astan Quds Razavi Central Library, said that the interaction between the Holy Atabat in Iraq and Iran have been increased for the past 10 years. The culmination of these joint collaborations was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between two Holy Atabat held in Mashad. Referring to his proposal of the Holy Atab meetings in Iraq, Rabi al-Shahada congress, he said: "Following the approval of this plan, proper joint projects were launched, the last of which was the Pilgrims' Bill of Rights”.
The director of the Library, Museums and Document Center of Astan Quds Razavi focused on the library cooperation and said: There are more than 100,000 manuscripts on Astan Quds Razavi, including 23,000 copies of the Qur'an and Qur'anic pamphlets and this is the largest center of Qur'anic manuscripts in the world. He called exchange and interaction in the field of manuscripts is one of the most important provisions of this memorandum.
Hosseini highlighted the importance of collaborative research and the availability of scholars' access to resources and training in the various fields of manuscript, cataloging, restoration, press and museum.
Also Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Nour al-Din Musavi, the director of Abbasi library in Iraq, asked for more co-operation with Astan Quds Razavi Central Library, referring to photography and cataloging of manuscripts and said “We have over 7,000 original manuscripts with 800,000 copies reproduced. He also asked for joint collaborations on manuscripts on the subject of Hazrat Abbas.
Hojjat al-Islam Husseini also announced two experts have been dispatched in the field of manuscript and restoration to the Abbasi library to begin collaboration in the near future.
